A 2500 with the 8.1 and a manual.......I don’t usually want full-size trucks, but I want this one.

It may just be me, but I think having a manual transmission in that kind of truck would be frankly horrible.

Honestly, some of the most fun I’ve had while driving has been driving full-size trucks with big engines and manual gearboxes. It’s not like driving a sports car for sure, but it’s still a blast nonetheless.

I think you’re right, but it also seems pretty badass

It’s almost as long as the shifter in my old 144

It would be super fun right away, but then you would go to tow with it and be annoyed instantly.

Screw selling it – if I was the original owner, I’d keep it forever!
Also, did you notice the plate number?

I would have serious questions about how a truck’s been driven if it needed a new transmission before the end of warranty mileage...

Hahahaha.
Sorry I was just imagining someone sitting in the middle front seat and the driver shifting between their legs.

This is true, it could also just be an anomaly

$14k FOR A STRIPPED OUT WORK TRUCK with 150k miles???? Manual or not that is straight up CP.
I bought a 2001 GMC crew cab duramax (like this but tan) for the same price with 120k miles and I have way more truck for the money. It has Everything besides leather, sunroof and BOSE + its a diesel.
& you do not want an 8.1 unless its 04+ because a lot of important sensors that are prone to failure have been discontinued. 04+ share alot more with gen 3 LS motors

Oh yeah I’m not onboard with the price at all, I just thought comically big motor plus 6 speed and 4x4 was pretty awesome. A diesel would definitely be a better purchase. Cool to know about the 04 and up 8.1s though. It is kms though, not miles

Well KM does make a big difference & sort of justifies the price. I didnt realize this was from Canada at first but yeah I definitley see the appeal. Just not a great package for it.
But an 04-07 truck with a better interior package and a manual would be a really nice rig. They are no worse then a 6.0/ 4 speed auto truck on gas and have almost diesel level torque. The Allison is honestly the better transmission because it will last forver behind an 8.1 with regular filter changes but it would be a lot of fun to wind the big block up to 5 grand and dump the clutch on it
